Families Go Wild at Halloween and Samhain!

It’s the time of year when we’re about halfway between the Summer Solstice (longest day of the year) and the Winter Solstice (shortest day of the year). It’s the end of the Summer and the end of the harvest, and the start of the dark and cold part of the year.

Today, we walked around the garden to find some of the last of our harvests, which included beetroots, squash and pumpkins!

We took these to the Kitchen Garden, where we got started carving and decorating the vegetables we had harvested.

We carved some great designs into our veg, and decorated them very creatively! We also did some painting and colouring of Autumnal scenes.
