Self-guided visits give you access to the farm's gardens and animals for a 2-hour slot. Visits can be booked Tuesday to Friday, between 10am - 12pm and 1pm –3pm.

On a guided tour your students will learn about our animals and explore the growing spaces. Led by our passionate and knowledgeable team, a guided tour is an opportunity to have all your questions answered and learn everything you need to know about how a small city farm works.

Guided tours can also be adapted to the age, ability and current learning topics of the group and explore themes around farming, sustainability and food.

For Early Years groups we recommend a self-guided visit or guided tour.

Our farm makes an inspiring outdoor classroom. Workshops are adaptable to the age, ability and current learning topics of the group. They explore the themes of food, farming and sustainability and are designed to foster nature connection. All workshops include a short tour of the farm.

Workshops can be booked on Wednesdays or Fridays between 10am – 12pm or 1pm –3pm depending on availability.

We work with local schools to deliver weekly educational and therapeutic farm and gardening sessions aimed to compliment curriculum learning and support children and young people's personal development. our sessions help build confidence and resilience, increase fine motor skills, encourage children and young people to take risks.

These sessions are ideal for smaller educational groups, particularly suited for students who require more targeted support, including those with SEND or emotional and behavioural barriers to learning.

Sessions are available during the spring, summer and autumn months.

We can deliver 4 to 12 week programmes for groups of up to 20 students as well as design tailored, longer term programmes for smaller groups.

We can also work with schools to establish a dedicated growing space on school grounds and deliver weekly growing sessions across year groups.

If you require space for your class to eat lunch, our Safari Tent can take groups of up to 30 children. This must be booked in advance.

We have a covered walkway and kitchen garden space where smaller groups can eat, if the weather is good. Allen Gardens is a large park adjacent to the farm, which you might prefer to use for a picnic, bring a blanket!

There is no fee for cancelling self-guided or guided tour, however we do ask that you give us a minimum of 48 hours' notice. A fee of £50 is charged for workshop bookings cancelled with less than 7 days' notice. Cancellations must be made by email.

Please read our risk assessment before you visit. We also encourage you to visit the farm during opening hours to conduct your own risk assessment tailored to your group. A member of staff will also give a H&S introduction when your group arrives for a visit.

There should be an appropriate number of supervising adults for the number, age and support needs of the children in your group. We recommend the following child to adult ratios:

Early Years/key Stage 1 - 5:1

Key Stage 2 - 8:1

Key Stage 3 and above - 12:1

Animal Feeding is only permitted under the supervision of farm staff as part of guided workshops and tours.

We have handwashing and toilet facilities. By nature, farms and animals can carry germs, we ask that all group members wash their hands at the start and end of their visit.

During the Spring, Summer and Autumn months, we have an onsite café where you can buy a range of hot drinks and snacks. We also have a small farm shop where souvenirs such as pencils and rubbers can be purchased.

The farm is on one level and is mostly wheelchair accessible. We have an accessible toilet and ramps leading to all our seating areas. Please note some pathways are narrow or are cobbled/have uneven surfaces. We are working on making our site more accessible and welcome user feedback in this area.
