Education Assistant. £28,000 pa, full-time. (One year contract intially).

Spitalfields City Farm is a two-acre, free-entry, urban oasis located a stone’s throw from the City of London that offers a unique and creative natural environment for all to enjoy.  

The Farm has been a safe space for everyone in the Tower Hamlets community for over 40 years. We work with a wide range of people to help them to experience the full range of benefits from being outdoors: gardening, harvesting, cooking vegetables, caring for animals, volunteering and taking part in events. We provide opportunities that empower people, helping them gain new skills and confidence to improve their employability, combat loneliness and make new friends.

About the role: 

Spitalfields City Farm is seeking an Education Assistant to support all aspects of the Farm's education programme, working with children and young people in Tower Hamlets. This is a full-time, onsite role that involves working outdoors year-round. The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, though occasional weekend work may be required based on the Farm's needs. 

About You: 

We’re looking for someone who is: 

  • Energetic, creative, and imaginative. 

  • Experienced in working with children and young people. 

  • Knowledgeable about food growing, animals, and cooking. 

  • Interested in the theory and practice of playwork. 

  • Well informed about and up to date with Safeguarding best practices.
