Giles Charlton
Giles Charlton recently joined the Board of Trustees in November 2024. He is a Landscape Architect and founder of the local design practice Spacehub. With over twenty five years’ experience he has worked across a diverse portfolio including award winning projects such as Goodluck Hope in Tower Hamlets and London Wall Place in the City of London. He has a great passion for London’s heritage and the long-term quality of our public realm and landscape, particularly in this area of Bethnal Green where he is involved in a number of regeneration projects. It was through this work that Giles first got to know the Farm and became a keen supporter of its interests.
Giles sits on the Tower Hamlets Quality Review Panel, an independent body that provides expert design advice to planning officers, applicants and the Planning Committee. Prior to life as a Landscape Architect, Giles was a furniture maker setting up his first business in Shacklewell Street in 1985 where he ran a small workshop for ten years. Having lived and worked in Tower Hamlets for forty years, he has a very special interest in this particular part of London, its history and its future.
