BEST IN SHOW!

On September 16th, Farm staff and volunteers took part in the 25th Annual Harvest Festival, held at the Lamborne End Centre for Outdoor Learning in Essex.

The Festival celebrates the fantastic work of London’s city farms and community gardens and the day includes animal and horticulture competitions, traditional crafts and a photography competition.

Second place for our bountiful Seasonal Produce display. Congratulations to the gardening team!

3rd place for our delicious Farm honey. Many thanks to our volunteer beekeeper Salvatore.

In the horticulture competition, the Farm won 1st prize for Potted Annual with a beautiful Cherry Bomb chilli grown from seed. We won 2nd place for our Seasonal Produce display and came 3rd in the Pollinator Friendly Plant category with our marigolds. We also came 3rd in both the Honey and Flowers + Foliage display categories.

In the photography competition, the Farm won three first prizes, in the Volunteer, Community Growing and Tallest Sunflower categories! We achieved second place in the Pondlife category and overall second place, following hot on the heels of Surrey Docks Farm.

Congratulations to all the farms and gardens for taking part, it was a wonderful celebration of everyone’s achievements. All the winning photography entries can be seen here: https://londonharvestfestival.org.uk/photography-digital-2023-winners/
