Festival on the Farm

By Phil Nichols

The Farm has hosted a whole range of events this summer. This includes two weddings, music nights, supper clubs, fashion photo shoots and team away days.

However, the most exciting one for us was working with Sense - a national disability charity, who have several befriending schemes in East London where a young person with a disability is paired with a volunteer and they go out into the community together to have fun and work on independence skills.

In August, Sense delivered their first completely free, accessible disability focused festival at the Farm. ‘Thrive’ gave most of the young people who attended, their first experience of a festival. A lot of the young people who enjoyed the event came with their volunteer buddy.

It was a truly spectacular day, with a number of amazing activities taking place that make any festival an amazing experience - including a silent disco, meditation, planting herbs, a chill-out area, fairground games and bubbles.

The farm was the perfect setting and vibe for the festival, it was just gorgeous!!

Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Sense for choosing the Farm as their venue.
