Families Go Wild Winter Fayre!

We’d spent the last few weeks planning for it, cooking up preserves, making decorations, and collecting prizes, and this week it was finally here! The Families Go Wild Winter Fayre!

This year we had the pleasure of members of East London Evensong Choir performing joyful Christmas Carols for us, which made the Fayre feel very festive, indeed!

We also had stalls from Farm Regulars, The Knitter Sisters, who had knitted lots of warming goodies to keep us cosy through the winter, as well as Lino Print maker Debbie Chessell, with her beautiful handmade designs.

The Family Volunteers were in charge of the Tombola, the Craft Stall, Face Painting and the Refreshments! The tombola was a great success, with people winning all sorts of prizes that had been kindly donated by volunteers and local businesses. Visitors to the Fayre were warmly invited to make and paint at the craft stall, and came up with some fantastic creations. The refreshments stall sold out of the homemade banana bread, as well as the farm-grown and -made preserves. They also served aromatic cups of mulled juice, tasty mince pies, and festive treats. There was something for everyone! Our Volunteer painted lovely designs on people’s faces, and made lots of us look like Rudolph!

There was lots going on at the Winter Fayre, and the family volunteers did a great job leading up to it, and on the day. They should be proud! Our special guests also had a lovely time meeting all the children (and grown-up children!) who made it to the Fayre. We were lucky to have both Mr and Mrs Claus visit the farm on the day, who gave out presents to the good children that went to see them. Hamish the goat was very well behaved, and loved his visit from Santa!

A big well done to everyone who was involved in the Winter Fayre. We hope it was enjoyed by all who participated and visited.

It’s the final Families Go Wild session of the year next week - we hope to see you then! If not, then enjoy the festive season, and we’ll see you next year!!
