Summer of Fun

By Katie Bonner

We’ve seen a bright and colourful program of events this summer! Highlights including mini beast hunting and African drumming, fire lighting and tea making as well as lots of tasty meals being prepared and enjoyed in our farm to fork sessions.

New skills and creativity have been explored by many in our woodworking, printmaking, modelmaking and crafting workshops.

Our animal encounters have delivered bundles of Farmyard fun with the chance to get up close to some of our four-legged friends in our goat and donkey grooming sessions. The ferrets took center stage in the show paddock last week showing us their bendy tricks.

Our wild and wonderful forest school sessions saw us get busy making bread on the fire and enjoying some well-loved tales from storyteller Karima. Calm and creativity was channelled making nature prints, crowns, and clay art using foraged items from the gardens. Lots of wisdom was shared around cultural stories of fire during our campfire sessions where lots of herbal tea and toasty treats were enjoyed outdoors.

All shades of weather were embraced, Sunshine was captured in our cyanotype printmaking sessions, and the rain was welcomed after many dry weeks as we got cosy in the safari tent enjoying a hot meal after our well-loved farm-to-fork cooking classes.

We hope those that visited us this summer have made some memories to last and enjoyed spending time at the farm, learning new skills, and enjoying time together in the great outdoors.

Come and visit us for the October half term for another fun-filled week of events! visit.
